Four children from class one took part in a poetry slam at Dillington House near Yeovil. Our pupils performed ‘Macavity the Mystery Cat’ by T.S.Eliot in front of a large crowd of children and teachers from all over the South West. Talented musicians from across the Dawlish Learning Partnership were offered the opportunity to work with the Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra in an afternoon workshop at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Dawlish. The children from Kenton, Kenn, Gatehouse and Cockwood Primary Schools enjoyed an afternoon workshop making music with the talented musicians from the Jazz Orchestra.
As part of a whole programme of primary outreach across a number of subject areas, a group of our year 5 and 6 pupils are visiting Dawlish Community College for additional French lessons. Bananas Carnival Fun! During the Summer Holidays staff, parents and children took part in the Dawlish carnival procession.

The School council recently held their second sucessful Fairtrade Cafe running it alondgside the PFA’s Father’s Day Craft Morning. The event was held at the Village Hall and it was a very enjoyable morning for all involved. There was a steady stream of customers for the children to practise their waiter and waitress skills on!

Pupils from Year’s 4 to 6 played against the Year 6 team at Gatehouse Primary School. It was a thrilling match which resulted in a 4 all draw. Both teams played in a very sporting manner and it was great to watch. Well done to everyone.
