The School council recently held their second sucessful Fairtrade Cafe running it alondgside the PFA’s Father’s Day Craft Morning.
The event was held at the Village Hall and it was a very enjoyable morning for all involved.
There was a steady stream of customers for the children to practise their waiter and waitress skills on!
As well as serving Fairtrade refreshements and cakes the children also manned a Traidcraft stall selling sweets and other goodies for Father’s Day. Samples of Fairtrade chocolate chip cookies were also available for tasting.
It was also lovely to have a visit from Jean and Andree on behalf of Dawlish Town’s Fairtrade Friends Committee. They were able to present Mrs Curry, parents, staff and children with our Fairtrade Achiever award. We are one of only two schools in the local learning community to have achieved this award given by the FairtradeFoundation. At the end of the morning the Fairtrade Cafe had raised just over £78, which will go back into purchasing more stock for the Cafe .
