Cockwood, Kenn C of E and Kenton Primary Schools
Under the leadership of the Ivy Education Trust Board, duties are delegated to the local governing board at Cockwood, Kenn C of E and Kenton Primary Schools. The Local Governing Board is made up of parent, staff and community representatives. The role of the school governors is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.
Our local governing board –
- two parent governors
- two staff governors
- one executive headteacher
- nine co-opted governors
- one foundation governor
The three core functions of the governing board are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
All governors attend the Local Governing Board meetings which take place 5 times a year.
