World Book Day 2018
We enjoyed World Book Day at Cockwood, with the children and staff dressing up as their favourite character and taking part in some lovely reading based activities. Well done to everyone who made such an effort with costumes.

Staff and children thoroughly enjoyed celebrating reading on World Book Day. Each class spent the day completing a range of reading related activities. Class 1 were extremely lucky to meet some very unexpected people on their recent trip to the SS Great Britain…. Dick and Dom from CBBC were on board filming a new television series! As you can imagine it created much excitement. The boys were very obliging and came and talked to the children.
As part of our topic this term on Victorians the children have been finding out about Ismabard Kingdon Brunel. The children had a fantastic day dressing up as Victorians and role-playing the launch of the ship. All the children were given roles including Lords, Ladies, Engineers and Navvies.
Year 5/6 children whose farm safety posters were chosen as runners up in the Bath and West Show. The children won a certificate and a money prize.
The children will be working next term with a large diverse school in Southampton to learn and understand how different communities work together.
