Class 1 spent an interesting afternoon with Debbie, our local Community Police Officer, doing a ‘speed watch’ on the main road between Exeter and Dawlish.
With Debbie’s help, they each had a chance to use the mobile speed camera to measure and record traffic’s speed. The children loved catching cars close to the speed limit! They even measured the speed of a train!
The children were surprised to see how many motorists had to slow down to keep within the legal limit. With the help of another officer they pulled motorists over and spoke to them about their speed and asked them why they were going so fast.
