We were delighted when over 200 family, friends, teachers and governors joined us on Monday 16th June at The Langstone Cliff Hotel to celebrate the Arts with a ‘Carnival’ theme.
Some amazing pieces of artwork were produced during the DLP arts week by children within our learning partnership. Many children worked with professional artists from Daisi to produce art from many different genres, including screen printing, willow sculptures and batik.
Exminster, Kenn, Kenton, Cockwood, Starcross, Gatehouse and Westcliff Primary Schools, Dawlish Community College and Oaklands Park School were involved in the project and showcased their art. There were also performances from the DLP Choir, DLP Wind Band, Kenton Dance Group, Exminster Dance Group and Cockwood Samba Ensemble.
Please have a look at the video below which captures a flavour of the night!
Thanks to both the fantastic Daisi artists and Roger and Annie Kirk from The Helen Foundation whose funding allowed the Daisi artists to support our children in this project. Roger commented “what a superb event the DLP celebration was… we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Such a wealth of artistic talent in so many areas! Congratulations to everyone involved, young people, teachers and DLP staff. It was terrific to see so many parents and relatives there, too.
Quite overwhelming!”
