Cockwood and Starcross Schools sing carols at Sainsburys!

On Thursday, Cockwood and Starcross Primary Schools were invited to sing Christmas Carols at Sainsburys Store, in Dawlish. The children sang a collection of 10 traditional Christmas songs which went down vey well with the growing audience of shoppers and parents.

Forest School in Class 2

Bikeability

Pupils in Key Stage 2 enjoyed a week of Bikeability. They improved their road safety and have completed the Level 1 and 2 course.

Theatre Production

Pupils in Year’s 2 – 5 enjoyed a performance of ‘A little princess’ by a theatre group. One child said ‘It’s the best day of my life!’ Clearly it was very well received. We are looking forward to the group returning to perform Jack and the beanstalk in January.    

Environment week – Sound Recording and Art Activities

The whole school have spent the week exploring our local area and working with Martin Prothero to produce some sound recordings of the River Exe. These will then feature on an interactive display for Exmoor National Park. The children enjoyed the day completing art work and science based activities on Dawlish Warren beach.  

Forest School Experience

Classes 2 and 3 had a super week enjoying a Forest School Experience. They took part in activities which included making fires, investigating bugs and completing some woodland art. Pupils had a super time and we hope to continue to do more in the future!
