The children at Cockwood Primary School enjoyed a super halloween disco, organised by the school PFA. Thank you to Cofton Country Holiday Park for providing the venue free of charge. It was a super community event enjoyed by all.
Dawlish Learning Partnership schools visited the new Sainsbury’s store in Dawlish today to show their support for this years Poppy appeal. Staff and children from Cockwood Primary School, Gatehouse Primary School and Oaklands Park School were warmly welcomed by Members of the Royal British Legion.
On Friday 21st September, all of the children at Cockwood primary School took part in an ‘It’s a Knockout’ style sports afternoon. They competed in their House Teams through 4 events.
Children at Cockwood Primary School have once again started our new school year with a Harvest celebration at Cofton Church. Our theme this year was making new words from the letters of HARVEST.
The children have been working hard in the village, digging an allotment. They have been supported by Bicton College and the children are growing seeds, planting them and hope to sell their final produce. Children from year 2, 3 and 4 took part in a dance festival at Exminster School. The children danced as machines with some complicated patterns. The year 4, 5 and 6 children took part in a Mauri War dance called the Hakka. The children had strong movements and made some quite terrifying faces.
Children joined with members of the Cockwood WI to share all the news and updates that have been happening in school. Sally our kitchen manager cooked all adults and children a delicious lunch. Thank you Sally.
