Year 6 delighted staff, pupils and parents with their very special version of ‘Carpool Karaoke’. They had some special guests in attendance including members of the Royal family and the Prime Minister!
Pupils and Staff performed the musical Beauty and the Beast at the Langstone Cliff Hotel this week. It was a brilliant show, with Year 6 students taking the lead. Well done to all who supported this event and for making the evening so amazing!
Class 1 have just returned from an amazing three day fun-packed residential to London. On Friday, children in Class 1 were able to go to Powderham Castle to watch a special performance by the Meridies Piano Trio. We were invited to the prestigious James Wyatt music room to listen to an hour long performance covering pieces by Debussy and Haydn, and even a world exclusive composition!
The children at Cockwood had a super time at their recent Taiko drumming workshop, where the children had a wonderful time playing big Japanese drums and learning new rhythms. We enjoyed World Book Day at Cockwood, with the children and staff dressing up as their favourite character and taking part in some lovely reading based activities. Well done to everyone who made such an effort with costumes.
Children spent the afternoon designing and testing their own rockets in our science competition. It was great fun and the teams gained points for super designs and rockets that flew the furthest.
Pupils and staff organised a fantastic community event, supported by the Big Lottery Fund. Residents of the village, pupils from other local schools and members of the community visited the school and enjoyed a range of activities.
