On Friday, children in Class 1 were able to go to Powderham Castle to watch a special performance by the Meridies Piano Trio.
We were invited to the prestigious James Wyatt music room to listen to an hour long performance covering pieces by Debussy and Haydn, and even a world exclusive composition!
The trio consisted of a pianist, violinist and cellist, who are all postgradutate students from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire that perform all over the world and take part in competitions. The children had the opportunity to ask questions at the end, where they found out about their inspirations, how long they had been playing, and how they started the instrument.
The children loved the performance and enjoyed listening to a different type of music. It was especially exciting to listen to a world premiere!
Here are some pictures from our afternoon.
