The children had a wonderful Harvest Festival at Cofton Church. The theme this year was Sharing, beautifully demonstrated through songs, readings, drama ,dance and a quiz!
Fifteen children and staff attended the opening of Chartwell’s academy. The children performed a song in traditional shona language about a lady riding on a white hyena. They sang absolutely beautifully and recieved a huge round of appluase for their perfect performance.
Denise Rowe has spent an afternoon with classes 1 and 2 this week teaching them a simple routine to an African drumming beat. Class 3 children sung and danced and retold many traditional stories to a large audience. They enjoyed making puppets and growing seeds aswell as many other tactivites connected with traditional stories, such as ‘The 3 Little Pigs’ and ‘The Ugly Duckling’.
Class 2 were very lucky to have the opportunity to work with Ali Roscoe FRom DAISI on an Olympic banner to be displayed in May in Exeter Cathedral. Over 60 children entered the Cofton in Bloom minature garden competition. All children received a prize for takng part and there were winners in each class.
