Gifted and talented gym and dance

A group of pupils spent several weeks enhancing their gym and dance skills alongside other pupils across the Learning Community. The finale was a group performance for parents and pupils at Westcliff Primary School.

Hosanna Rock at the Langstone Cliff

The whole school took part in a wonderful performance of Hosanna Rock. The singing, acting and dancing was inspirational and seeing the children together for Christmas was super. Over 300 people came to see the perfromance and a huge thank  you goes to everyone who helped on the night. Merry Christmas from Cockwood!  

Anne Marie Morris MP visits Cockwood

Class 2 Victorian Day

The pupils had an amazing time when we became a Victorian school for the day. Energy workshop and ‘play in a day’

Class 1 -‘The Eon-nators’ Class 1 have taken part in an energy saving workshop. The children worked alongside a professional actor to develop a ‘play in a day’ based on how to save energy, money and the environment. Pupils, staff and even some parents wore their Christmas jumpers to raise money for Save the Children and Oxfam. It certainly put us in the festive spirit!    

Netball Tournament

Pupil in Year’s 5 and 6 enjoyed the netball tournament held against local schools in the learning community. It was a great day and the children enjoyed the challenge of competing against much bigger schools. Well done to everyone who took part.  

Poetry wall

In groups, pupils are using our new poetry wall to enhance their skills in using vocabulary to create wonderful poetry. It has been a great success so far and children are going away to create their own poetry books at home!  

Year 1 at Clip and Climb

Pupils enjoyed a brilliant morning at Clip and Climb in Exeter. Many conquered their fears and it was wonderful to see the children supporting each other. What a great way to exercise!

Supporting Children in Need

Pupils, staff and parents raised approximately £170 for this worthy cause. Pupils and staff came to school dressed in pyjamas and had the chance to buy one of Sally’s homemade Pudsey Bear buscuits. We had an assembly from Kay Partridge (ICE Team) who worked with the children retelling the story of the Good Samaritan.
