Cockwood perform SAMBA!

Well done to the super samba band, newly formed, who gave a brilliant performance at the Dawlish Learning Patrnership Art Exhibition on Monday 16th June at The Langstone Cliff Hotel. The children, from Classes 1 and 2, practised for just one week and were guided by Dave Salter (West Exe) and our music student Daniel Leath….

Theatre Production

Pupils in Year’s 2 – 5 enjoyed a performance of ‘A little princess’ by a theatre group. One child said ‘It’s the best day of my life!’ Clearly it was very well received. We are looking forward to the group returning to perform Jack and the beanstalk in January.    

Environment week – Sound Recording and Art Activities

The whole school have spent the week exploring our local area and working with Martin Prothero to produce some sound recordings of the River Exe. These will then feature on an interactive display for Exmoor National Park. The children enjoyed the day completing art work and science based activities on Dawlish Warren beach.

Well done to all of our pupils who took part in the inter schools competition in Dawlish. We are very proud – especially as we won the event and took home the plate!  

Creating a song across all schools

Gifted and talented pupils across the schools in our learning community wrote the lyrics and music for their own song. The children performed the song to all schools and we hope it will be available to download soon. What a super achievement!

World Book Day 2013
