In Foundation we have been celebrating all the fantastic independent writing going on around the class. We have created a ‘Writing Club’ that anyone can take part in everyday, where there are many different things to write about! You can make cards, recipes, stories or even letters to Santa!
This half term the children in Class 3 are working on their hockey skills! We have been busy learning how to control the ball; including pushing the ball, stopping it and moving it around the cones carefully using our sticks.
This week we have been looking at using what we know about counting, numbers and number symbols to start to make our own number sentences. Class 3 have been working hard in PE, developing our ball skills! We have been learning how to control the ball both on a racket and on the floor, as well as travelling with a ball in different ways.
The whole school enjoyed a lovely Harvest Festival celebration at St. Mary’s Church, Cofton. The theme this year was Appreciation which is our school value this half term. Each class made a super contribution with Class 1 delivering some first class readings! It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers there.
The children in Class 3 have been enjoying the last of the autumn sunshine, and recently walked to Cofton Church and back again….a long way for such little legs!
Powderham House (yellow) have won the overall trophy for most house points over the year. Our Year 6 children received the trophy on behalf of their house team.
This week Class 3 performed their annual assembly to showcase their learning from the year. We decided to base the assembly around the children’s favourite film at the moment- ‘The Greatest Showman’, by creating ‘The Greatest Class 3 Show!’ The children had a super time learning the songs and dances, and we all enjoyed watching…
The children had a fantastic time exploring on the field, becoming insect detectives on the hunt for creatures! Equipped with a check list, we all looked very carefully to find as many insects and minibeasts as possible. We found ladybirds, dragonflies and many more. A fun and sunny afternoon for our little explorers!
The children in Class 3 had a fantastic time on their trip to Dawlish Warren last week. They had a busy day, starting with a super workshop with Steven, a ranger from the Nature Reserve, and ending with some free time on the beach and an ice cream!
