At Cockwood Primary School year 6’s have been busy designing a menu fit for a Queen.
They are entering a competition to win the opportunity to cook in the kitchens at Buckingham Palace for the Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The children have been researching local produce and finding out how local produce has shaped Cockwood’s past. They were incredibly lucky to have a cooking masterclass with Head Chef at The Anchor, Cockwood, Andy. He demonstrated how to cook River Exe mussels and allowed the children to cook in a professional kitchen. In two groups they cooked two different types of mussels and then thoroughly enjoyed taste testing their efforts!!
We are sure the Queen would love to eat fresh River Exe mussels!
Thanks Andy!
