Class 2 enjoyed their day walking around the grounds of Exeter University in the pouring rain! They also saw another art form…the wonderful painted ceiling in The Old Chapel. The children laid down in the aisle to appreciate the intricacy of the symmetry, when asked how the ceiling and the colours made them feel they said it was calming and peaceful. The painting is meant to evoke tranquil feelings, although it wasnt particularly tranquil until we left!! There was also a beautiful sculpture in the chapel called ‘Kay Alexnadra’ which had been made by a polish artist to celebrate the birth of his first grand- daughter. He had used a particularly beautiful white stone to represent purity and innocence.
