At the end of our first week back to school Year 6 were delighted to spend some time with our very youngest children reading and getting to know each other. After an initial ‘Buddy Book’ session staff observed to see who got along well and could be matched as buddies. It is wonderful to reinstate the buddy system post-covid, it benefits both the youngest and oldest children in the school as it helps the new foundation pupils to settle in and feel more confident on the playground. For our oldest pupils it gives them a sense of responsibility and encourages them to be good role models. We look forward to regular reading sessions over the coming weeks.
