What a fabulous day we all had celebrating a love for books! Everyone brought in their favourite book to share with their friends; children took part in a range of actvities linked to reading including guessing the ‘hints’. In Class 3, our youngest children put on puppet shows telling their own stories and Class 2 children designed ‘Wanted’ posters for their favourite book characters. In whole school assembly, a few children from each class told us about their favourite book and why they like it so much.
During the afternoon, all pupils had a chance to go to ‘Mrs Buttree’s Book Shop’ and collect one of the World Book Day titles, along with a bookmark and a story-telling fortune-teller, to take home and enjoy reading.
