This week children from Key Stage 2 had the opportunity to attend the exciting ‘Mix Festival’ held at Dartington Hall in Totnes. Children from primary schools across Devon attended this day of workshops and performances from steel pans to the Royal Marines Band!
Throughout the day, the children experienced new instruments and learnt about their origins, as well as learning how to use new technology to compose musical pieces online. The children attended workshops where they learnt how to play violins, taiko drums, Brazilian samba drums, steel pans, as well attending a ‘have a go’ session where they were able to play any instrument they wanted! A particular highlight of the day was also having their faces painted with ‘The Mix’ festival logo.
The children had a fantastic day and behaved perfectly throughout. Enjoy looking through our photos from the day, and watching some videos of us exploring new instruments!
