Class 2: Balancing Physical and Mental Well-Being
The children in Class 2 focused on the 10 key things they can do to maintain a healthy balance between their physical and mental health:
- Talk about your feelings
- Take a break
- Keep yourself hydrated
- Keep active in mind and body
- Ask for help
- Actively care for others
- Be proud of your very being
- Do something you enjoy and are good at
- Eat well
- Stay connected to those you care about
Working with Mr. Baxter, the pupils brainstormed examples of how they can incorporate these elements into their daily lives, demonstrating our school’s commitment to nurturing the whole child.
Class 3: Team building and Skill Development
Meanwhile, the students in Class 3 spent the afternoon engaged in exciting teambuilding activities and learning new physical skills. They practised the technique of holding the ends of a rope, turning it sufficiently, and taking turns skipping. This exercise not only developed their hand-eye coordination but also encouraged collaboration and teamwork – values that are central to our school’s ethos.
Both classes thoroughly enjoyed the Sport’s Impact session, and Mr. Baxter was impressed by the enthusiasm and engagement of our pupils. At Cockwood Primary, we are proud to provide our students with a wealth of opportunities to broaden their learning experiences beyond the curriculum, aligning with our vision of helping every child to flourish.
By offering engaging extracurricular activities like the Sport’s Impact session, Cockwood Primary School continues to demonstrate its commitment to the holistic development of our pupils. Through these enriching experiences, we strive to nurture the happiness, ambition, perseverance, reflection, respect, and creativity of every child in our care, preparing them for success both within and beyond the classroom.
