What a wonderful week we’ve had at Cockwood Primary! Our School Council organised a fantastic Fairtrade Cafe that brought our community together for such a meaningful cause.
Over recent weeks, our pupils have been learning about the importance of Fairtrade and the positive impact it has on producers around the world. To bring this learning to life, we shared a delicious recipe for banana and chocolate cake made with the finest Fairtrade ingredients. It was truly inspiring to see the creativity on display – whilst everyone followed the same recipe, the variations pupils created were absolutely fabulous.
The cafe itself was a huge success. Pupils had the opportunity to purchase a slice of cake and a hot chocolate, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who baked and contributed. Your generosity and support made this event possible and helped us raise valuable funds for the School Council’s chosen charity.
We are also delighted to share that we’re supporting Mr Keast as he takes on the marathon challenge for the Cats Protection League. It’s fantastic to see members of our school community taking on such ambitious goals for causes they care about.
Events like these remind us of the importance of working together and making a difference, both locally and globally.
