Dear Parents and Friends of Cockwood School,
Sally Stoneman – Chairman, Hannah Strudwick – Vice Chairman, Charlie Crowe – Treasurer, Rachel – Secretary & Katie Orchard – supporting secretary.
We are your new PFA committee for Cockwood Primary School. We are very excited to take on our new roles and hope that we can do our school proud over the coming year. We look forward to organising some fun and exciting events for our children.
We would firstly like to thank the committee members that are stepping down this year. Danielle, Kellie-Jo, Celia and Debbie have dedicated many years serving on the committee, organising some fabulous events and raising a great deal of money for our children’s benefit. Their continued help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
We would also like to thank everyone of you that supports the PFA and the events that we run. Without your support the PFA would not be able to fund essential activities for the children at school. In the last 12 months the PFA has donated towards the children’s swimming lessons. We have also provided the funds that allowed the year 6 children to attend the opera, this term, at no cost to parents/carers.
We have lots of upcoming events, the first being a non-uniform day on Friday 24th November. We ask that all children donate an item for the Christmas raffle in exchange for this non-uniform day. Donated items will be used for hampers that the PFA will make up.
The raffle will be held at the Christmas Fair on Friday 15th December which starts at 3:15pm at Cockwood Village hall. We will also have various Christmassy activities and games on offer for the children as well as mulled wine & mince pies for grown ups. The choir have kindly offered to sing for us to really get us in the festive mood!
The PFA have organised a Christmas wreath making activity for grown ups as a social event. The date for this is Monday 4th December. This is not a fundraising activity but simply a fun and relaxed way for parents to get to know each other. Unfortunately, spaces were limited and the event is now full. However, will look at organising more grown up social events, in the future, if we have the interest.
Looking forward into the New Year we are thinking a Valentine’s disco is in order to get everyone into the party mood before half term.
We hope that the activities that we are planning sound like fun and look forward to seeing many of you there. If there are other events or activities you would like to see run by the PFA or you would like to offer some help, please do come along to one of our meetings, we would love to hear what everyone has to say.
Our next meeting is to held at Cockwood school on Friday 19th January 2024 at 3.40pm. Please feel free to attend.
Kindest regards,
Your PFA committee
