Every week, Mrs Roper has the pleasure of leading our oracy assembly, where we delve into the principles of high-quality communication. This week, we explored the social, emotional, and listening aspects of effective talk. Our thought-provoking question was, “How are we kept safe in school?” Pupils engaged in ‘nesting’, reflecting individually, before participating in a ‘traverse’ grouping to share ideas with five peers.
It’s truly wonderful to witness our pupils actively participating in these assemblies, making our time together both meaningful and memorable. Oracy is a golden thread woven throughout our curriculum, and these assemblies are just one of the many opportunities we provide for our pupils to engage in purposeful dialogue.
We believe that encouraging communication skills is vital for our pupils’ development, and we’re committed to fostering an environment where every voice is heard and valued.
