On the 23rd May, the children in Class 1 had an exciting afternoon of Samba- looking at the origins of Samba, traditional instruments, and creating their own Samba piece of music.
The children were all able to play a variety of instruments you would typically find in a Samba band, practising call and response patterns, and learning Samba beats that are layered over each other to make the authentic Samba sound.
Some children had a go at being the leader of the group, using the whistle to create call and response rhythms and bringing in different groups of children to layer up the piece of music.
The children had a great time and made a lot of noise!
