The children from the Choir were invited to sing at the official opening of the new harbour wall, as part of the latest work completed in the Harbour Defence Scheme.
The event took place on the Village Green, where the children sang a special sea related song; ‘Drop in the Ocean’ and completed many fun activities provided by the Environment Agency. We also watched the plaque unveiling, and one pupil helped cut the ribbon for the official opening!
The children’s performance was filmed for ITV Westcountry News, with some children taking part in an interview about local flooding which may be broadcast at the weekend- all very exciting! The children were also able to find out more about how tides work, have a look inside an Environment Agency van and use a remote controlled grass mower.
The children had a fantastic time and loved the experience of singing to the wider community and being filmed! They did a wonderful job, and we are very proud of them and their achievements. We should be appearing on the local ITV news over the weekend at some point, so keep watching the local segments! Here are some photos from our exciting morning, and a video of our performance.
Thank you to all our parents for their continued support in their child’s performances, and to the children for their hard work!
