SUMMER STAFF AND YEAR 6 PRODUCTION
The Wizard of Oz
At the end of a very busy term everyone at Cockwood School was very sad to say goodbye to our year 6 children. We ended their time at the school in true Cockwood fashion with a superb concert involving the staff and all of year 6.
The production this year was ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Luckily we had some great singers and some fantastic actors and actresses amongst our year 6 children. Parents contributed by organising amazing costumes and all the staff worked incredibly hard to produce fantastic props.
Once again we were lucky to call on the services of Martin Broom to help make scenery and Sandy Smith, as official photographer.
This summer event is now becoming an established Cockwood tradition and the children really worked hard to learn their lines and songs and polish up their acting skills. We feel it gives them something to work towards as a team in their final weeks as pupils at this school and is always a pleasure for everyone involved as well as a great night out for the audience.
We have some budding thespians amongst our staff and everyone, once again, were great sports… the poppies went down a storm!
