On Friday 28th November the School Council held their third Fairtrade Cafe of the year.
The School Council prepared for the event by chosing and ordering the Traidcraft items they wanted to sell. They also designed posters and even made delicious sweets.
During the Cafe the Council ran a quiz and an orange juice taste testing station. The total amount raised by the council was an incredible £86.75.
Jo Austin who attended the event with her Community Traidcraft Stall also raised £80.00. All the funds raised from purchasing Traidcraft items goes directly to the craftsmen and women to help support their business and families.
The School Council’s chosen charity for the coming year is Bakau Newtown Lower School in Gambia. We are hoping to help provide more sanitation for the school.
