We are delighted to share some exciting news about our rugby programme this term. We have partnered with the Exeter Chiefs, and their talented coach is currently working with Class 1 until half term. After that, Class 2 will have their turn in the run-up to Christmas. These sessions are brilliantly structured, with two groups of around 17 pupils receiving targeted weekly tag rugby lessons. But it’s not just about learning the rules of the game. These sessions are designed to challenge our pupils, encouraging them to use problem-solving skills and think tactically. Moreover, they’re fantastic for promoting resilience, leadership, and teamwork – all vital skills for life beyond the rugby pitch.
We’re running an after-school tag rugby club too, which has proven incredibly popular with our pupils.
None of this would be possible without the generous support of our PFA, who have donated a whopping £1,000 towards this wonderful opportunity. Their contribution is truly appreciated and will make a significant difference to our pupils’ experiences.
It’s heartening to see our pupils so engaged and enthusiastic about this new venture and we look forward to seeing how they progress over the coming weeks.
