This week Digital leaders from both class 1 and 2 attended a training workshop at the Apple Store in Exeter’s Princesshay development. They spent the morning exploring the app ‘Garageband’ and finding out how they could bring this knowledge back into school to share with their peers.
They were challenged to make an original ‘rock’ track during the session which they had to share by the end of their workshop. The children worked in pairs to create their piece of music and asked some super questions about the special features of the app.
The Digital Leader’s already run a Scratch club for KS1 children and after half-term they now plan to set up a ‘Garageband club’ to create original music. The children were very enthusiastic about this wonderful experience and are all keen to share their learning across the school.
Before leaving the children were presented with T-shirts and certificates to prove they had successfully completed the training.
