At Cockwood Primary School, we are committed to providing our pupils with a wealth of opportunities to broaden their learning experiences beyond the curriculum. One such opportunity is our annual participation in the Exeter Cathedral Christmas Concert, which is always a highlight in our school calendar.
Choir Delivers Spectacular Performance
This year, our school choir had the honour of performing alongside the Teacher Rock at the grand event. The 300-strong choir put on a spectacular show, with each school taking the stage individually as well as singing together. Our choir did not disappoint, standing proud and delivering a superb rendition of “You Are the Reason.” They also showcased their talents by performing a range of songs as an ensemble, including “Circle of Life,” “Love Can Build a Bridge,” and an arrangement based on Pachelbel’s “Canon in D.”
Dedication and Teamwork
The success of our choir’s performance is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our pupils and staff. Under the guidance of Miss Buttree, our choir members gave up their lunchtimes in the weeks leading up to the concert to ensure they were fully prepared. Their perseverance and teamwork shone through, and it was a joy to see them enjoying the performance and making our school community proud.
Reflecting Our Values
At Cockwood Primary School, we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is valued. Our choir’s achievement at the Exeter Cathedral Christmas Concert embodies our core values of happiness, ambition, perseverance, reflection, respect, and creativity. We are proud to see our pupils flourishing and embracing the wealth of opportunities available to them.
Celebrating our School Community
This event marks the start of the Christmas season for our school, and we are grateful to have been a part of such a special occasion. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our choir and Miss Buttree for their outstanding performance, and we look forward to many more opportunities to showcase the talents and achievements of our pupils.
