We were delighted to hold our own afternoon tea celebration to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Every child had a ‘platinum ticket’ to invite someone to join them on the village green for an afternoon of tea, cake and entertainment. The tables and chairs were laid out in ‘street party’ style and staff served over 200 pupils and guests with a selection of cakes and scones. The weather was fabulous which made the occasion. Each class performed a dance routine, Class 1 and 2 lead by Miss Murray and Class 3 lead by Miss Buttree. The PFA kindly gave every child a teddy bear and mug as a memento of the occasion and the local church gave them a Platinum Jubilee book. The afternoon was rounded off with the children singing the National Anthem and it was a perfect end to a busy half term.
