We are delighted to share the wonderful learning adventure that Class 2 experienced during their visit to Sawmills Solar Farm at Ashcombe in Dawlish.
Following their engaging in-school workshop, our pupils had the most fabulous morning exploring renewable energy in action. Watching their faces light up as they discovered how solar panels transform sunlight into clean energy was truly magical. The children were completely captivated by the process, asking thoughtful questions and making connections to their classroom learning.
But the learning didn’t stop there! Our young scientists also conducted a biodiversity study of the site, and we are thrilled to report they were absolutely fascinated by the incredible amount of wildlife they discovered. Their enthusiasm for exploring the natural world around them was infectious, and it was wonderful to see them making those important connections between renewable energy and environmental conservation.
This fantastic trip links beautifully with our ongoing commitment to nurturing environmental citizens of the future. Our pupils are developing such a strong understanding of sustainability and their role in protecting our planet.
