To fit in with their topic based on the Romans, Class 2 have made their very own Roman mosaics in Art. Over the last few weeks, pupils have explored tessellation and a variety of ways patterns and designs can work together to create an overall image. Children then came up with an initial design for their tile, before repeating it using only squares. At this point they were ready to use pieces of clay tiles to create their own design. Everyone worked really carefully and over a couple of weeks waited for the glue to set the tiles, before grouting them securely in place. A super effort and they should all be very proud of their final piece of work. We will send them home later in the term.
