It’s been a delightful week at Cockwood Primary, with our Class 2 and 3 pupils embarking on an enchanting summer exploration of our village. This nature walk, a follow-up to their autumn adventure, allowed our young learners to observe and appreciate the seasonal changes firsthand.
Class 2 pupils channelled their inner artists, sketching their observations in their Art books. They also collected sticks for an exciting ‘stick transformation’ project, aligning perfectly with this term’s art curriculum.
Meanwhile, Class 3 focused on comparing their summer and autumn experiences. To capture their memories, they created charming ‘story sticks’ – a creative way to recount their journey.
This wonderful afternoon offered our pupils a chance to pause and truly appreciate the often-overlooked natural beauty surrounding us. It’s experiences like these that enrich our children’s learning, fostering a deeper connection with their environment and nurturing their observational skills.
