Class One had a brilliant trip to The Box in Plymouth, they experienced a mix of local and world History and explored the life and achievements of Sir Frances Drake. They used their Oracy skills to interview Drake and Queen Elizabeth I; then became history detectives and found out about the Spanish Armada and the legend of Drake’s Drum. They learnt about Drake’s significance, and how his successes laid the foundation of the British Empire but we also explored the dark side of Drake and we looked at his links with Slavery and piracy.
