What a wonderful few weeks we’ve had at Cockwood Primary! Half of Class 1 have been enjoying Forest School sessions, and the experiences they’ve gained have been truly special. Our pupils have thrown themselves into a range of activities—from building fires and developing their knife skills to cooking delicious apple fritters together. Beyond the practical activities, there’s been something particularly magical about den building and exploring our site. Watching our oldest pupils connect with nature and experience the changing seasons firsthand has been a real highlight. The enthusiasm and curiosity they’ve shown has been brilliant to see.
We’re now looking forward to welcoming the second group from Class 1 to Forest School next week. We can’t wait to hear all about their adventures and the new skills they’ll develop. It’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of outdoor learning and giving our pupils the chance to engage with the natural world around them.
