What an absolutely magical way to end our school year! Our Year 6 pupils delivered a truly spectacular performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Auditorium at Teignmouth School, and I’m still buzzing with pride and excitement.
The venue itself was perfect – the incredible sound and lighting at the Auditorium created such a wonderful atmosphere that really brought the show to life. But it was our pupils who truly stole the spotlight with their amazing performances. Every single child gave their absolute best, and what a joy it was to watch them shine.
We have to give special mention to our Child-Catcher, who delivered such a memorable performance that will live on in our memories for years to come! Our Caractacus Potts and Truly Scrumptious were simply outstanding, bringing real heart and energy to their roles. The spies brought wonderful humour to the production, perfectly complemented by our fantastic supporting chorus made up of pupils from Years 4 and 5.
The dance routine to “Me Old Bamboo” was absolutely incredible – Mrs Whenman’s direction really brought out the best in our young performers. However, I think the real star of the show has to be Chitty Chitty Bang Bang herself! We are incredibly grateful to Mr Roper and Mr Roper Senior, who spent countless hours building this fantastic prop that truly brought the magic to life.
None of this would have been possible without Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Buttree, who have worked tirelessly to bring this production together. Their dedication and hard work have given our pupils an experience that will stay in their hearts forever.
What a super way to end the year on such a high note – these are the moments that make our school community so special.
