Last week we were delighted to welcome in a wide range of visitors to talk to all of our pupils about their chosen career, we had a GP, a Coastguard, an NHS Consultant, an Entertainer, a Police Dog Handler and a 999 Call Responder all give up their precious time to support our young learners.
Each one captivated the children’s imgaination and it was fantastic to see them being asked such interesting and sensible questions. We feel it is so important that our pupils are exposed, and introduced, to the wealth of careers and opportunties that are available to them and giving them this snapshot into the wider world was met with lots of enthusiasm. One child commented, ” It was really nice to hear about what people do and what they do at their work.” Another said, ” I loved the Police Dog Handler, I would like to do that- the dog was so lovely and we got to stroke it!”
The week was so successful we are going to make it an annual event and aim to get a wider variety of professions to sign up ready for next July!
