On our recent visit to the RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) in Exeter, Year 5 and 6 brought their Historical understanding and learning to life through taking part in a Time Travel Challenge. Pupils worked in pairs, choosing a historical character and using the museum’s artefacts to “time travel” back to their chosen era. This engaging activity required critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective collaboration – all while fostering a love of history and exploration.
Pupils used a virtual guide app to enhance their museum experience and deepen their understanding of the artefacts.
The challenge allowed learners to apply a range of skills, including discussion, listening, and creative thinking.
Working together, the pairs successfully completed the time travel challenge, bringing their learning to life in a meaningful and memorable way.
It was a fantastic opportunity and we were very grateful to the RAMM for hosting such a great event.
