What a wonderful start to the week we’ve had! Our Always Club Winners were invited to the Local Scoop in Dawlish for a truly memorable experience. Under Jack’s expert guidance, the children got hands-on with ice-cream and sorbet making, creating some incredible flavours in just a couple of hours.
The creativity on display was fantastic. Our pupils chose to make blueberry and lemon sorbet, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate with mini eggs and chocolate buttons, honeycomb and biscoff, and pineapple and mango. There was far more to this outing than just having fun—lots of maths was woven throughout as the children weighed and measured ingredients with real purpose.
Of course, no ice-cream making experience would be complete without plenty of taste-testing! The children were thorough in ensuring they were happy with each flavour. The best part? They were able to package up their creations to take home and share with their families, extending the joy of the day beyond the school gates.
One child summed it up perfectly when they said, “It has been the best day and I will remember it forever!” That’s exactly the kind of experience we hope to create for our pupils—moments that spark joy, curiosity, and lasting memories.
Many thanks to the Local Scoop for inviting us and making this such a special morning.
