This week, we have been delighted to witness Class 3 engaging in some truly meaningful learning around Earth Day. The pupils have thrown themselves into exploring why our planet matters and what we can all do to protect it.
What struck us most was seeing them work with natural materials to weave and create their own planets. It’s in these hands-on moments that learning really comes alive. Through this creative process, the pupils have discovered the things that are good for our world, and importantly, they’ve discussed the things that can cause harm to the environment. These conversations are so vital – they’re helping our young learners develop an understanding of their place in the world and their responsibility towards it.
But the real highlight has been seeing our pupils come together to make their Earth Promises. There’s something quite special about watching our youngest members of the school community commit to positive actions. It shows that even at primary school age, pupils can grasp the importance of environmental stewardship and feel empowered to make a difference.
