The festival theme was ‘inspirational quotes’ – words that spark courage, hope and belief – and our pupils, under Mrs Whenman’s wonderful direction, brought a Martin Luther King quote to life through movement and music. Their routine powerfully conveyed a message of equality and the importance of helping others in distress. It was truly moving to watch.
What struck us most was the courage shown by every single pupil who volunteered to take part, including those who find dance challenging. They demonstrated exceptional teamwork, creativity and commitment throughout the afternoon and evening. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and represent our school with such pride was remarkable.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff who supported them so brilliantly, and to our parents who came to watch and helped with collections from Ashburton. The positive feedback we’ve received about our routine has been wonderful, and it really does showcase what our pupils are capable of when they work together with such enthusiasm and determination.
