Last Friday was a vibrant celebration of numbers and creativity at Cockwood Primary School! Our pupils embraced the NSPCC Number Day with incredible enthusiasm, coming to school dressed as either numbers or rockstars – creating a wonderfully energetic atmosphere.
We are incredibly proud to share that our Year 6 cohort truly shone in the Times Table Challenge across the Ivy Education Trust. Not only did they emerge as top scorers, but the collective achievement was remarkable. Across the five primary schools participating, pupils answered an astounding 55,000 times table questions in just half an hour – what a phenomenal display of mathematical skill!
Throughout the day, pupils engaged in a diverse range of number games and mathematical tasks, making learning both fun and interactive. These activities not only supported their mathematical knowledge but also demonstrated the joy of learning.
The day wasn’t just about education – we also made a meaningful difference by raising £75 for the NSPCC. This achievement reflects the generosity and community spirit of our pupils and their families.
A massive congratulations to everyone who participated and made the day such a success. Well done, team Cockwood!
