The children brilliantly showcased their deep understanding of this significant period in history. Through three songs, an impressive dance routine, and thoughtful storytelling, they explained the complex factors leading to the war. The most moving moments came when the pupils read their own writing, exploring the emotional experiences of children being evacuated from their families to the countryside.
The assembly was a truly immersive experience. We were transported alongside the children through their vivid portrayal of a train journey and the intense atmosphere of an air raid. Special mention must go to our outstanding performers who brought historical figures to life – a compelling Winston Churchill and a wonderful Gracie Fields.
Our heartfelt thanks to our incredible Class 1 team for their dedication in preparing this wonderful assembly. Their hard work shone through in every moment. We are also immensely grateful to our parents who supported the children by sourcing amazing costumes that brought the historical period to life.
This assembly was a superb demonstration of our pupils’ learning, creativity, and empathy. Well done Class 1, it was fabulous!
