Everyone was very excited this week when we reached our school reading target of 2 million words this half term. All the children have really engaged with the Accelerated Reader Programme and have loved reading books at their appropriate level and quizzing to check their comprehension skills. Each week Mrs Murtha has given a running total of the amount of words each class has read and set a weekly target for the school. As we neared our target we counted down from 150,000 as each child quizzed their books. One of our year 6 girls was the lucky pupil to reach the target figure…..WELL DONE everyone…it has been wonderful seeing the enthusiasm and excitement about reading spread across our school.
