We are delighted to share with you an exciting adventure our School Council recently embarked upon. They were privileged to visit the esteemed Lympstone Manor, where they delved into the fascinating world of seasonality and healthy eating.
Our pupils were warmly welcomed and treated to a comprehensive tour of the hotel, including the charming shepherd’s huts and pool house. However, it was the extensive kitchens that truly captured their imagination. Here, they observed the intricate workings of a professional kitchen, with staff explaining the specific roles and responsibilities of each team member.
The children’s curiosity was piqued as they learned about ingredient sourcing and watched in awe as chefs demonstrated the delicate art of creating checkerboard pasta and skillfully carving butternut squash. Their engagement was evident in the thoughtful questions they posed throughout the visit.
The tour concluded on a delightful note, with everyone enjoying freshly squeezed orange juice and exquisite homemade biscuits. We were impressed by the chefs’ passion for high standards and their in-depth knowledge of food provenance.
This enriching experience has left us all with a newfound appreciation for culinary expertise and a desire to return for dinner! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lympstone Manor for this invaluable opportunity.
